Another Successful Women On Target Clinic

Once again this year we had twelve women come out to the clubhouse and range for our NRA Women On Target handgun clinic held on June 13. This year we were able to conduct the class on the new IDPA range using the large bay. Everyone who came out enjoyed the nice day and learned about handguns. Some women shot a handgun for the very first time; for others it was a refresher since they hadn’t “shot in decades”. One woman had her CPL but still came out to shoot for more practice. You can never have too much practice. Many hit bulls-eyes! Some of this year’s comments from the ladies included: “When can I do this again? This is so much fun.”, another said “This is awesome!”, and “I have to get my husband to buy me one of these!.” (She was referring to a .22 caliber pistol). Some were nervous at first, but they all came away with a new sense of “I can do this!”. One women brought her new 38 revolver which she had never shot before to learn how to shoot it here – and she had that opportunity on Sunday.
A big thank you to John Brummett for being a fun and gracious Range Safety Officer. Also thanks to Ron Adams, Don Romine, Dave Stedman, and Larry York for helping me out on the range with one-on-one instruction for the ladies. All had good and safe day.

An Item was missed for the now published June Newsletter announcing Special Supervised Practice Sessions (click here for more info) for the Cowboy Action Shooters, or those who may wish to visit and see what it's all about.
The club has ordered some new caps with embroidered logos. They are a good quality cap that are made in the USA. Since we have already set up the embroidered logo, it can be used on any shirts or jackets. There is a catalog at the club or you can go to Bofa in Sturgis to order your item(s).
